Role and responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the world’s longest established provider of mental health services working exclusively with professional sport. This is a role for an adaptable, independent thinker who can work proactively and creatively as part of a small team to serve our primary purpose; increasing the number of professional athletes who are aware of Sporting Chance and how our services can help them.

The successful applicant will be interested in and enthusiastic about mental health, education and professional sportspeople. We want a strong administrator who can manage and help to develop education content and market our sessions to our clients (mainly support staff in sporting organisations across the UK). While social media and digital platforms will play a part in this, there is no fixed blueprint in terms of how this area of our work will develop and the successful candidate will play a significant role in shaping this.

This is an office based part time role (0.6). The arrangement as to specific days of work is flexible.

Responsibilities include:

​

  • Maintaining and developing our library of education content.

  • Managing our programme of education delivery, logging bookings, assigning facilitators, processing invoices and monthly progress reports.

  • Building relationships with clients (primarily support staff in sporting organisations).

  • Managing the marketing and delivery of online CPD sessions to groups of staff and therapists.

  • Producing visually engaging resources for athletes and support staff on mental health topics.

  • Managing the day to day running of our social media accounts.

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of the Sporting Chance Conference.

  • Participating in the delivery of education sessions to different groups (online and face to face) when required.

  • Working with our clinical team / therapist network on collaborative education projects.

  • Supporting the Education, Communications and Research Department in its duties where required.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

​

  • High level of IT literacy including knowledge of and ability to evidence competency on social media, MS Office (incl. PowerPoint)

  • Reading and writing to a high standard

  • Excellent communication manner

  • Ability to work equally well independently and collaboratively

  • Good time management

  • Office based experience

  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking, creativity and effectively present ideas

  • Understanding and interest in the field of mental health and treatment of mental health problems

  • Interest in and knowledge of the professional sporting landscape.

Friends of Sporting Chance is an ongoing initiative that aims to raise awareness of our services to those who are eligible to receive them.

EDUCATION FACILITATORS

 

As more professional sports ask us to discuss mental health with their athletes, Sporting Chance are looking to recruit a pool of Education Facilitators on a consultancy basis.

​

This will involve delivering and co-delivering education sessions to a range of age groups and levels both in person and online and is ideally suited to high/elite-level current or former sportspeople, or those with links to professional sport who have an interest in mental health and who are happy to share a little of their own experience.
