New Appointments

Sporting Chance recently appointed two new trustees to its board with Katie Legg and Dr Matt Muijen OBE joining the charity.

After experiencing a fantastic response to advertising the positions, Katie and Matt emerged as the ideal candidates to join the Board of Trustees at this time.

Katie boasts a wealth of high-level experience in Sport and Mental Health. She is currently Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Mental Health UK and previously worked for Sport England, overseeing investment with nation governing bodies. A Psychiatrist by background, Matt is currently a Mental Health Policy Adviser and has worked as a consultant with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the World Bank, Swiss Development Corporation and with many countries and non-governmental organisations advising on mental health policy. He had previously spent 13 years as the Programme Manager for Mental Health and Mental Disorders at the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

Colin Bland, CEO of Sporting Chance, said: “I am delighted that Katie & Matt have joined our Board of Trustees. The experience and expertise that they bring to the charity is impressive and can only help us achieve our goals. Sporting Chance is committed to providing services to help sport to achieve an environment that encourages better mental and emotional wellbeing for all involved and a safe place for those in need of support. These appointments will aid us greatly.”

Katie and Matt join fellow Trustees Graham Ball, Alan Leslie, Lincoln Elias and Alex Collis on the board.
